Similar to BBN-2, BBN-4 consists of friable, irregularly shaped particles and can be equally used in the wide range of applications of vitrified bonded tools. The good balance between fracture toughness and friability allows the breakaway of tiny fragments from each grain. This provides good free cutting properties and a long tool life.
With a clad of 60% nickel, BBN-4 can be used as an excellent feedstock for resin bonded grinding wheels, which have their application in the machining of HSS and similar materials.
